For Avery's second birthday I knew that I wanted it much more low-key than her first birthday! Her nap is right smack in the middle of the day (from around 1-3:30) so we decided that instead of doing a morning party, we'd do a dinner! Pizza and cake with just our families. I made a few confetti balloons, found cute coordinating plates, and attempted my very first ever birthday cake! Brandon frosted the cupcakes and we sprinkled them with tiny edible gold hearts. I found our gorgeous tassel banner on Etsy. Avery's three cousins came over and they played most of the time in our little courtyard, she opened some presents and it was such a great time! All she wanted at her party was "balloobs" and some birthday cake - so she was in heaven. The birthday song is her new favorite, and the last few days I've heard her sing to herself "beeday to you!"
I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful mama, her toddler and her brand new baby girl. I loved this shoot. It was more of a lifestyle, candid shoot and I just hung out for an hour and captured photos of the sisters interacting. I love this so much more than super "posed" photos! Camille is truly the epitome of glowing mom. She was so calm, and being a mother comes so naturally to her. Here are a few of the photos from their shoot.
Megan and Frank decided on a secret courthouse elopement in the early morning on NYE! They didn't tell any of their family or friends until after the fact. It was so intimate, and truly an honor to witness. Megan was the most laid back bride I've ever seen, and ultimately just couldn't wait to marry the one she loves. Their 3 month old daughter was there to share in the moment with them. And from their beaming, happy faces you would never know it was the coldest day of the year in San Diego (38 degrees). Dana & Justin are the sweetest couple who live in San Francisco but were in town for the holidays and wanted to capture some engagement pictures at the beach in Del Mar where they got engaged a few months ago. It's easy when your clients are gorgeous!
