When I was younger I absolutely loved April Fools pranks. Kandi and I always got her mom so bad. This year, I pranked the two men in my life. My husband and my dad.
While Brandon was in the shower, I changed my name in his phone to Jessica Girl From Bar. A couple of hours later, we were in the car on our way to go hiking, and I secretly called him from my phone. He thought I was digging through my purse. I see him hold his phone up and stare at it, and I wonder what he's going to do. He turns the music down and says, "Umm, hang on I need to answer this." I quickly hang the phone up and he thinks he wasn't able to answer it in time.
"Umm, this is really weird. It says Jessica Girl From Bar, and the only thing I can think of is that she's someone I met from the Bar prep classes I was taking while studying last year. I guess it's possible she worked for Barbri." Well, I instantly knew this wasn't going to be the hit I imagined it would be if I couldn't act mad. So I'm giving him a look like I don't really believe him, and I snatch his phone and say, "Well, I'll call her back right now." He looks horrified, and slightly flushed and sweaty. I press re-dial and my phone starts vibrating on my lap. He looks at it and it shows that Husband is calling. It takes him a split second, and then he realizes. He breaks out in a big grin, and says, "You got me!" while I cheer "April Fools!" The joke ended up being on me though because the leisurely "hike" he took me on was 1.5 miles UP the side of a mountain. UP the ENTIRE way. My butt feels like I sprained it today.
And then, very last minute at about 9:30 pm last night, I decide to get my dad. Brandon tells me right away that I won't be able to get my dad who has probably been pranking people all day. I figure he's right but give it my best shot.
As soon as I realized he believed me, I felt terrible! Especially considering I complain about school everytime I talk to him. He must have thought in that split second that his daughter was some kind of creep who had been lying for six months!
Did anyone else pull any good pranks? I need ideas for next year ;-)
