Friday's Letters

Dear Lauren- today I am guest posting about mine and Brandon's trip to Amsterdam on your blog. Thank you for having me girly! *also check out her beautiful new blog design by Em over at Hope Squared.*

Dear Stephanie- your book came in the mail yesterday and I cannot wait to devour it. Your blog has captivated me and your story has both haunted and inspired me. Not only did you survive a plane crash with burns on over 80% of your body, but you have shared your harrowing story with the world. Thank you for that.
Dear Husband - we met for lunch yesterday and you were exceptionally quiet while I talked your ears off. I told you while getting in our cars, that had this been a first date, I certainly would not answer when you called the next day... to which you replied, "How do you know I would?" As if.

Dear Lucy- for a few days following last weekend's incident you've been acting slightly traumatized and depressed. I'm glad to see you're now back to your attention demanding ways.
She will stare until you go back to rubbing her belly

Happy Weekend everyone!!

Birthday Letters

Dear Mom - Today is your birthday and there really isn't anyone on the planet I can think of that deserves a better one than you. For the entire 28 years of my life you've always given selflessly to your kids without ever thinking of yourself. Although I did not get your blonde hair or blue eyes, I did get your mannerisms. Brandon has stopped me in the middle of talking a few times to say, "Whoa, whatever hand motion you were just doing while telling that story was identical to your mom." I have always loved reading and all things book related, just like you. Perhaps it was all those years of reading to me when I was little, and taking me to Little Professor Book Store to let me pick out a book (or 3) every few weeks.  It goes without saying that I went on to get my English degree just like you. You have always been the smartest person I've ever known. 19 year ago you had to give birth on your birthday (that was unfortunate) but you gave me our youngest brother, Spencer.

Spence- Having a little brother ten years younger than me was sometimes like having my own living baby doll. I remember clearly when mom and dad brought you home. All 10 pounds 14 oz of you. Holding you was like holding a toddler. I loved when people would talk about how much you looked like me when I was a baby because I thought you were the cutest thing I had ever seen. I'll be honest and admit that I really wanted a sister. You see, I already had a younger brother, AJ. But I had to make due with what I was given. So when you were 4 years old, I would dress you up in my dresses, and put mascara and blush on you. You were always a good sport. Watching you grow up has been a lot of fun. Watching you start college has been weird. I still picture you as this little kid. Although you're now 6'4, you will always be my kid brother. Happy 19th Birthday, doodles.
One of the outtakes but one of my favorites :-)

Friday Letters

Dear Husband- you finally found the car you've been searching for. A 1968 red and white Bronco. A part of me is relieved that you will finally have an old car to work on again {it's been a whopping five months since you sold the last one}. Your favorite thing in the world is scouring craigslist and auto forums. In fact, I think you recently snapped off the plastic piece on my car window on purpose, so you could have a part to look for online.
Dear Disney Movies - the other day I got very nostalgic for all of you. Aladdin, Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Lady & The Tramp, Alice in Wonderland, Lion King, The Little Mermaid {you get the point}. On a whim, I decided I was going to purchase the entire collection of all of them on Amazon. They're old so they'll be like five bucks, right? WRONG. They are each between $28 - $48 dollars. I'm sorry, whaaaat? I didn't buy any.

Dear Instagram friends - I posted a picture of my new sparkly nails (Sally Hansen's Nail Effects) on Instagram and mentioned the one lonely freckle on my palm. Who would have known there were so many others (4 to be exact) with a freckle in the same place. It makes me feel like we are in a special club.
Dear Thursday - you marked day SEVEN in a row where I replaced my regularly enormous lunch with a meal replacement smoothie from Jamba Juice. 100% fruit with added protein to keep me filled up until dinner. While Victoria's Secret will not be asking me to model bikinis anytime soon, I do feel lighter and slightly more energized.

Dear Readers- I've seen fun Q&A sessions on other blogs and thought I might dare to ask...do you guys have any questions for me? Anything at all? If so, let me know and I'll do a post answering them :-)

Friday's Letters

Dear Brandon- Thank you for finally putting your foot down and taking our Valentine's decorations down. It is April. You know I never would have done it.
Dear Dad- You have officially been struck with baby fever. You have now asked me for the third time when you can expect a grandchild. This is all very new to me. I'm still getting used to the fact that you're okay with me making out with a boy, let alone making a baby. Seems just like yesterday I got in trouble for giving a boy my phone number on the bus.

Dear Lucy-I love that when you hear my keys you pop out of MY blanket and give me this look like, "Can I come mom? Can I? Hah? Hah? Can I come?"
Dear California Burrito- Why are you so delicious? Smothered with hot sauce, I could eat you for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My butt does not like this, or you.
Dear Diet Coke Brownies- How have I never heard of your existence? I feel as if I've died and gone to heaven. Too bad you couldn't be a part of the juice fast I'm considering.

Dear Readers- I hope your weekend is everything you want it to be. I have another paper due on Sunday that I'll be spending most of the weekend on, and then a birthday dinner at the Starlight Lounge in San Diego {anyone been?} for our friend's 30th birthday. You can find me on Instagram over the weekend, and I'll talk to you all on Monday!

Friday Letters

Dear Husband- I am so proud of how well you are doing at work. Your three four years (because I count the time you studied for the LSAT, and the Bar Exam) of hard work and dedication are beginning to pay off!

Dear Person Who Searched "girl wedgied so hard she pees"- I'm really disturbed that you somehow found my blog with that search criteria. But if you are the same person that searched for Trailer Trash Party Decorations, thank you. You've reminded me that I did blog about Brandon's 30th Birthday Party before I had any followers, and that I should re-share.

Dear Webster's Dictionary- I think it's kind of amazing that hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia is actually a word (seriously, google it). But I think it's even more amazing that the definition is: Fear of long words. Does that seem mean to anyone else?

Dear Brandon- When I sent you that picture of the girl placing her ice cold feet on her poor husband's back, thank you for also pointing out that I steal all of the covers. This made the picture ten times funnier to me. {Wondering who the Critter Sitter is?}

Friday is off to a fabulous start. I forgot my wallet at home, so I'm currently carrying around the hugest purse that only has my phone and car keys in it. Wallet is on the dining room table. I hope I don't starve. I will be spending the rest of the weekend finishing up my paper, and attending my nieces 3rd Birthday Ballerina party!

Dear Readers - you should vote on the poll I have on the right hand side over there. Just want to make sure I don't bore you to tears.

Dear Kandi- we've been best friends for 15 years and I think this is because you can make me laugh more than anyone else I know. Reading your latest blog post was the highlight of my morning. Any story regarding a camel toe is a-okay in my book. Also, I'm really sorry that your morning on Wednesday consisted of losing your wallet and finding that a bum had pooped on your porch. Life is rough sometimes.

Dear husband- you shouldn't have told me that the only time you have at work to play Draw Something is when you're going to the bathroom. Because now I know exactly when you are pooping and this information is unnecessary.
Dear Lucy- I understand that you love the heat just like your mama, but when I'm laying in front of our ancient heater whilst blogging I would appreciate it if you didn't scratch my arm until I scoot over so you could sit closest to the heat. Who pays the bills around here anyway?
This week flew by and I'm so thankful!
It's gonna be a stormy weekend so I hope to get lots and lots of homework done.
No temptations :-)
I hope all of you have an amazing weekend as well!

Friday Letters - Giveaway Winner!

Dear Sue - Congratulations girl, you have won the Urban Walls Decal Giveaway
Shoot me an email and I'll put you in touch with Danielle :-)
Can't wait to see what you choose, and how it looks in your place!

Dear Asparagus- I could eat you for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But why do you make my pee smell just like you?
It's fascinating and gross at the same time.
Dear KONY campaign- At first I was very annoyed at how often I was hearing about you.
And then I took the time to watch the video last night, and found it to be very powerful.
If you haven't watched this yet, you should!

Dear Newer Bloggers- If you're just getting started and looking for some blogging advice you should check out Emmy's pearls of wisdom. I couldn't agree more with her entire post.

Dear Brandon- You planted basil a couple of months ago and it's actually been really cute watching you water it and check on it daily. Someone in this family had to have a green thumb and we know that's not me.
Pretty impressive right?

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
I have a paper to knock out before Monday.

Dear Brandon- nothing makes me happier than getting out of the shower to find that you've turned on the heater for me. There is nothing worse than shivering in my towel, and nothing better than the small ways you love me.

Dear St.Thomas- it's official, we've purchased our tickets and will be re-visiting you in October for our second wedding anniversary! We've been dreaming of your sandy beaches and warm turqouise waters. Only 218 days to go.

Dear http://librarianheygirl.tumblr.com/ - One of my readers pointed you out to me, and learning of your existence was the highlight of my month. Ryan Gosling speaking "Librarian". Are you kidding me?

Dear 28mm f/1.8 lens- My bonus at work has made it possible to bring you home in a couple of days. I hope you and Shania (our camera) get along beautifully and make lots of gorgeous children.

Dear Blog friends- sometimes you leave me really nice comments, and/or questions in comment form and when I go to reply via email it says "Noreply-comment". I feel like we're missing out on really great conversations! It's really easy to fix this, and make it possible for other bloggers to reply to you directly. Two easy steps!
1. Click on Edit Profile on your Dashboard
2. Make sure that you have checked Show my Email Address and then enter in the email address the comment replies should go to. This can be different than the email you use to log-in.

Dearest Brandon- you asked me on a date almost a week in advance. This reminded me of when we were dating before you just "knew" what I was doing every night. I liked it and definitely would not complain if you did it again.

Dear Brandon - last week before bedtime I chased you around the house calling you "My dearest Chonchito" in my best Spanish accent (think Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite). You are used to my normal bed time antics, but this time you genuinely looked at me like I was a crazy person. "Little chonchito, please don't be afraid," I exclaimed as I chased you down the hall. I'm not sure what chonchito actually means but eventually you laughed very hard and got me the glass of water I initially started pestering you for. Thank you for loving me. Sincerely, Chonchita.

Dear lower back- are you getting old? You've been aching since I wrestled Brandon on New Years Eve. I'm going to need you for the next 70 years or so, so toughen up.

Dear crock pot- I wish there was a way to express love to inanimate objects. Ummmm, let me try that again. I would hug you if I could because you make my life so much easier. Coming home from work to the house smelling divine and seeing that you've made a dinner out of the ingredients I gave you 8 hours ago makes me smile.

Dear husband- last night I saw you stare at my arm while I was talking to you and accused you of staring because you thought they were fat. You were speechless. I almost burst into tears and was paranoid the rest of the night, self-consciously stealing glances at my jiggly arm. Whaaat? It must be that time of the month.
