Family Photoshoot

I had the pleasure of photographing the Silberberg Family last weekend. They were absolutely the easiest family in the world to photograph. Little baby Lola almost always looked directly at the camera, and sweet Landon had been practicing his smile all week. If only they could all be this easy!

DIY Gold Metallic Halloween Decorations

I saw the cutest gold pumpkins at Target - but each one was $6-9 bucks. Now, I'm not the craftiest of people but I knew I could make those myself. I went to the Dollar Tree and found a couple of small orange pumpkins (sort of a paper mache type material) and a plastic bobble head skull for under $3. I bought the gold spray paint at Micheal's using a 50% off coupon so it was only $2.50. I quickly sprayed them on my patio outside, let them dry, and voila! I still have so much spray paint left - I'm tempted to start spraying everything in my house gold.

Sweet Newborn Hospital Session

I've visited my fair share of friends in the hospital to meet their tiny babes, but I have never been in a room that was so calm just a few hours after baby made their arrival! Mama was absolutely glowing and seemed more like an experienced mom than a first-timer. I was once again blown away by how tiny newborns really are. For the first time since having Avery, I may have had a pang of longing for the newborn-ness.

My Etsy Print Shop

So while planning a couple of bridal showers and a baby shower and not really finding the signs that I wanted, I decided to make my own in Photoshop. If you've been following along, I'm sure you've seen them in my previous posts. After the showers were over I missed designing signs and continued to do so. Several times I thought to myself how amazing it would be to just make a little bit of money doing something I love so much. I was so nervous to open up an Etsy shop because "what if no one wants to buy anything I make!" I took a deep breath and went for it.  I just recently sold my 82nd order and it has been SO MUCH FUN! My favorite thing to do is custom orders! Birthday parties, bridal showers, motivational quotes - you name it, I can make it!

Kelly's Wedding: Getting Ready

My friend Kelly got married a few weekends ago! Kelly was a bridesmaid in my wedding 4 years ago, so it was fun to have the roles reversed. She got married at The Ranch at Bandy Canyon - a gorgeous venue tucked away at the foot of the mountains, beneath a million trees. We spent the entire day in the bridal suite getting our hair and make-up done, sipping champagne, flipping through magazines and giggling nervously. As I become more serious about photography, I feel so grateful that I had the opportunity and honor of taking Kelly's "Getting Ready" photos since her photographer was not scheduled to come until afterwards. I wanted to capture the moments leading up to one of the biggest moments of her life. I still look back at my getting "ready pictures" and smile. Kelly was an absolutely stunning bride.
