50's Housewives Inspired Bridal Shower

Pin It!

Well, my bridal shower was on Saturday and it was so much fun!!
Kandi sent out the most ADORABLE shower invitations a few weeks ago
and much to my delight
she used Anne Taintor as her inspiration not only for the invitation
but the shower itself!
(If you don't know who Anne Taintor is, you need to!!)

Since the theme was 50's Housewives, many of the girls came in their
cutest dresses with matching apron.
Kandi had El Gordito catered, and lunch was amazing!

I was absolutely stunned by the work that Kandi, Kelly and Stephanie put into the
dessert table.
It was beyond anything I'd ever imagined for my shower!
And if you know me, you know how much I love cupcakes :-)

Chocolate fountains anyone?

The favors were these adorable lanterns that Kandi adorned with a picture of me and Brandon, and a really sweet quote.

Kandi sent blank recipe cards with the invitations
so I could  collect some yummy recipes from my friends.
{We all know I need all the help I can get in the cooking department}

My gorgeous bridesmaids!

Kandi made little craft bags for each girl and asked them to design a veil for me.
I got to choose the best one and the winner got a prize.

Gift Time!

All of the lovely ladies (minus a few girls)

Thank you all so much ladies for making this day so special!

XO,
Amira

Invitations by Sunshine & Ravioli

The invitations have been one of my favorite parts
of the wedding planning process.

During the very early stages of planning, I remember telling my mom:

 "Eh, who cares about the invitations, no one really remembers what
they look like and they end up throwing them away.
I want to spend very little time and money on the invitations."

That is... until I discovered Etsy
and the amazingly, creative individuals like Stephanie from Sunshine and Ravioli.

I first contacted Steph in February about designing a
 "vintage inspired" invitation.

She charges a $25 consultation fee for all customized work.
If you end up placing an order, the $25 goes towards your order.
During the early stages we emailed back and forth about
the colors, design and wording of the invitations.

All of her work is hand stamped,
and I had a hard time deciding between a bird,
and an oak tree as the image of the invitaions.
We ended up going with the oak tree,
as it is reminiscent of the venue where we will be married
{in two short months!}

Part of our ever-growing pile

I opted for a glassine bag with a handstamped sticker seal
{instead of the more common inner envelope}

Not a very clear picture

The invitation and reply postcard came tied together with raffia...

Don't mind the crooked raffia in the next picture,
I tried to manuever the reply card out
{without having to untie it}

Reply Card...

I can't wait to get them in the mail!
