Luxury Theaters

Going to the movies is one of my absolute favorite things to do. There are few dates that can top the movies in my simple little world. The regular theater, the drive-in theater and most recently...the luxury theater. If there is one near you, I would highly recommend it. A new one just opened up a few miles from our house, and they just so happen to be clients of Brandon's firm...so guess who got to go for free? Before the theater is even open to the public? We did.
Downstairs is a lounge with a bar, restaurant and coffee shop. A large flat screen was playing the basketball game and we hung out for a bit before the show.
The theater itself was pretty awesome. Each seat is a leather recliner (that reclines almost all the way to laying position) and there is a little button on your seat that you can press for a server to come and take your order. Perhaps you want a mojito? Or a beer? Maybe a hamburger? They have a full menu and we chose the fruit fondue. Delicious.
We saw the movie Hugo, directed by Martin Scorsese, and I could never say enough about how heartwarming and magical this movie was. We had heard really great things about it, but neither of us had any clue what it was about. Do yourself a favor and see it if you haven't. It's actually based off of a book called The Invention of Hugo Cabret.

And then Sunday came around and I did nothing. Absolutely nothing, and it was lovely. I did at least shower, but then it was right back in pajamas.

In other news, you can now follow me here :-)

This looks amazing! I wish we had a luxury theatre near by! The closest thing to a luxury theatre might be the Sundance Theatre, but it's still not half as nice as this one! What a lovely weekend!

We just got one of these in my area but I have not heard of anyone who has gone yet though! Apparently ours has a mini bowling alley in the lounge area! I will totally have to give it a shot now!! :)

We have a place here in Richmond called CineBistro that has a rocking bar & outdoor patio area. The tickets are only slightly higher than the typical movie theaters & they will serve you food/drinks before the movie starts. There's no "call bell" for more waiters though, nor are there huge recliners. I'm hoping one like yours comes to Richmond soon!!

I really wish we had one of those. All you get at our theatres is over priced soda and gum on your shoe.

And now a burger and a mojito sound delicious :)

Hmmm?! Everything is seriously better in California. I am not sure if there is a luxury cafe around here - however I am going to go on a mission to find one.

here they call them the VIP theatres I LOVE going!
it's totally worth the extra few $$ to have someone bring you a lovely cocktail to your leather recliner seat that you got to reserve in advance so you didn't have to fight for good seats! :) SO FUN!

We went to see 'Hugo' and I'm going to be honest, we were a bit disappointed. Although it was beautiful visually, I felt the story was a little meandering at times and unsure of itself. Rx
