Things I've learned while walking the dog:

-It's really hard to try and pick a wedgie inconspicuously.

-That Lucy may or may not be a hermaphrodite. Or at the very least, she thinks she's a boy. When we go on walks she squats and pees at every bush, claiming each as her own. She even kinda lifts her leg. Her sole mission on our walks is to make sure the whole neighborhood knows who runs the show. She will squeeze two drops out and then prance on to the next bush. She would be a total dominatrix if she was allowed to date.
See? Leg lift.
-That Lucy is just like her mom and hates exercise. She's always really enthusiastic at the beginning, trying to pull me ahead {bless her little 7 pound heart} strutting like she owns the place, but about 20 minutes in {and 13 pee squats later} I'm dragging her

-That Lucy will always choose to poop when someone is around, so I'm forced to pick it up.
blurry but sweet
-That she will always poop a second time, and it will be the size of a nickel and I will refuse to waste a bag on it. So I'll pretend to bend down and pick it up in case anyone is watching. Who knew I was so cheap?

P.S. I think it was Jerry Seinfeld who said if aliens from another planet were observing Earth they would assume dogs ruled the world. Since they lead us by leash and we pick up their poop.
Happy Friday everyone!

I'm laughing so hard.

Yes, it is impossible to inconspicuously pick a wedgie. So I stopped caring if someone is watching :) Your dog is so silly and precious!
If I had a dog, I'd be that person everyone hates, because I wouldn't pick up poop if no one was around.

lol too funny. I swear dogs know when people are watching to wait to poop. I used to walk my parent's chocolate lab (not so tiny) and she would always, always do it in front of other people. If she could find a good looking man, even better! Have a great weekend Amira! xo

Hahaha this post is great. Moxy totally lifts her leg a little when she pees - one time she started peeing and then pooping at the same time. Multi-tasker.

PS - I definitely do the "fake poop picker upper". I figure its so tiny anyway, what's it hurting?

Haha I love that last picture ... she looks so perky. :)

And I have given up trying to be inconspicous about wedgies. Gotta dive and do what needs done.

OMG. I am dying. I feel ya on this... Except... luckily Jax doesn't poop on walks. Jerry Seinfield is probably right.

Found your blog via Jenni!

I think Lucy and my pup Zuzu might be walk twins!

I love that you fake pick it up, definitely one of my moves too! Such an awesome post!

Ahh this post cracked me up...my dog does the same things! I'm convinced she thinks she's a boy too (mainly because she tries to hump things? Awkward...) and she always poops when someone is watching so then I have to pick it up too...gahh. Lucy is so cute, I love that name...our dog's name is Lola so if we get another one I really want to name it Lucy! :)

Happy Friday! xoxo

hahaha that cracked me up! I seriously do the exact something when Huckleberry poops on walks. Luckily, he doesn't do it very often he'll just wait until he gets back to our yard. (I think he's a little shy) :)

Ernie still loves Lucy even if she is a hermaphrodite!

hahah...oh little Luce-baguce. I love that leg lifting pose.

And good for you to not waste a bag on a nickel sized poop! Shoot, I wouldn't even pick up the first dropping if it were up to me... but that's just another convo altogether.

Anyway... no Friday's Letters today?

I feel your pain with the peeing on everything situation! I had two male dogs and they both had to pee all over the neighborhood. Longest walks ever!! lol!

LOL thats all I can say

Ok, so... Lucy is adorable. She is making me try to scheme up a plan to get Tim to let us have a puppy. Picking a wedgie is impossible. I think you just have to own it and do it and hope no one around you is looking.

Awww Lucy is so sweet! I love reading this post, dogs just have a way of knowing exactly when and how to embarrass you. There have been a couple of times when I forget to take a bag and then bam, right when I think we're in the clear she pops a squat at the exact moment that another person is walking by!

Hi Amira! I love this post about your dog! My dog is named Lucy too! She's half maltese-yorkie and half manchester terrier. :) It was really nice to meet you at the Shine beach clean up this morning! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! xo, Reannah @Shaped by Grace

This is my first time reading your blog - it's awesome, I plan to follow it regularly. I just have to tell you that I DO have a hermaphrodite dog!! Seriously - her name is Bacon, and we call her a "she" because that's what we thought she was, until she got speutered (as we call it). It's become our thing to tell the "Bacon Hermaphrodite" story at parties - we've got it down to a routine.
