Fidel's

Fidel's quickly became my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Encinitas area. Well, it's probably tied with Tony's Jacal which I'm sure I'll share at some point. When my best friend Kandi asked if we wanted to meet for a triple date, we were all for it. Even better is that we were triple dating with my old buddy Jordan and his wife and daughter. Jo and I have been friends since we were 15 years old. We don't get to hang out every weekend like we did when we were younger but when we do get together it's like no time has passed at all.
I'm not a huge drinker but it had been a long day and a Mojito just sounded refreshing. It was humongous {and delicious}
Mmm carne asada taco with black beans and spanish rice. Mouth watering.
Brooklyn showing auntie Kandi her full belly
I've never see a toddler under the age of 2 who likes hot sauce as much as Brooklyn!
"Don't look and maybe they won't come over here."

Fidel's has two locations, one in Solana Beach and one in Carlsbad that is now called Norte.
You would NOT regret visiting, and gorging yourself on this traditional Mexican cuisine.
Their chips and salsa alone are worth the trip.
Do any of my San Diego peeps know of any delicious Mexican restaurants I might be unaware of?
I want to try them all.

What a cute little baby! I bet you guys have all kinds of Mexican food in SD. WE HAVE NOTHING IN SEATTLE. It is a shame.

This post is seriously making my mouth water - we have a serious lack of Mexican food in South Africa :/

Luckily, I make quesadillas at least once a week, it helps feed the craving ;)

Ummm....do you have a spare room? Because I am moving to SD. You're looking for a poop-burglar guard aren't you?

Miguel's! Their chips and jalapeƱo cheese dip is to die for! They have two locations - one in Coronado and one in the Point Loma area of San Diego. Let me know what you think of it if you end up going. =)

Happy Wednesday!

Yummy Mexican food! The only Mexican food I have the option of having in France is Old El Pasos which is sold in the "Ethnic" isle of the grocery store...I want the real stuff!

Yuuuuum Mexican food. Yum.

I have two.

1. Jimmy Carter's in Mission Hills/Hillcrest. Phenomenal. They bring out little carrots that are just heavenly. My husband and I literally eat three servings of them every time.
2. Fidel's in Del Mar. It's tucked away just past the racetrack. Delicious, melty cheese all over everything. And they serve you three or four nacho-chips on your plate... Regardless of what you order.

We also really like Fred's in PB... It's not so much authentic, but on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the people watching is to die for.

I love Mexican food. Definitely going to try Fidel's. Have you gone to the outside restaurant in the middle of Old Town San Diego? I can't think of the name, but it's entirely outdoors in a courtyard area. There is an olive oil shop next to it. They also make homemade tortillas right next to it. The taco shells are like nothing I've ever tasted. DELICIOUS!

hahah i really think you need to make like an official food guide or something. I know you're officially my food guide for the encinitas area anyway!

So I found your blog through a friend's blog, and honestly I have a hard time reading about your blissful romantic relationship. I'm not being snide either - it is truly beautiful, and what I'm currently going through in my life just makes me crave the kind of happiness and connection the two of you share. Every picture I see, every word I read about you two, I just think Man I want that so bad! So I will add my name to your list of followers and ogle the picture-perfectness that is you. :)

Mhm I'm not big on sit down Mexican restaurants. I kinda prefer the drive-thru hole in the wall Mexican food variety. Howeverrrrr, if you, me, olivia, and hollie and our men were to go on quadruple double date to Fidel's I would make an exception (as long as margaritas were involved.. obviously hehe)

Let's do it =)
