Besta Wan Pizza

I've been hearing about Best Wan Pizza House in Cardiff since I moved to Encinitas and I finally had the pleasure of going! Oh my goodness. This charming little restaurant looks like it used to be a house. The inside is made up of two tiny rooms, a giant turquoise brick fireplace and a very tiny bar. Since it was a nice sunny day, Brandon and I sat outside on the patio.
The menus are all album covers

Half Artichoke (mine) and half pepperoni (Brandon)
The food was delicious!! We almost ate the entire thing.
The pizza has thin crust, tons of cheese and came out piping hot.
Immediately I noticed the dogs. They were everywhere. One in particular just roamed the patio, his owner would peek his head outside every now and then to make sure he was okay. I assume the guy works there because this dog looked right at home. Regulars greeted the pup by name as they got seated. He plopped down in a sunny spot in the middle of the patio and customers just stepped over him.
The Regular
The gorgeous turquoise fireplace with hanging colored lights <3
Two tiny rooms with an eclectic feel
One of the greatest parts of the Besta Wan experience (aside from how dog friendly it was) was that all the kids played in the parking lot (which the patio directly overlooks). Does that sound bad? It's an asphalt area where kids can run, scream and hula-hoop, giving their parents a break to eat in peace but still the ability to keep an eye on them. I love it. I felt like I was at a neighborhood block party.
I would recommend this place to anyone, and will absolutely be eating here at least once a week. Maybe next time by the fireplace...

But really, you need to be okay with the dogs everywhere. If you don't want an enormous black lab eying every bite you take, this might not be the place for you.

I ended up dropping a few pieces.
I'm such a sucker...

This place looks amazing!! And the whole lab staring at you while you eat is just a fact of everyday life for me. I love that they allow dogs.
PS: I love the mason jars as glasses. I always have and always will think it's cool to drink out of a mason jar.

That is my kind of place!! I love that the menus are old album covers. How creative!

We ate at a pizza place similar to that when we were in Asheville, NC last year. I loved the laid back atmosphere where the kids could run and play and no one had to tell them to be still! It was excellent for us since I was there to catch up with an old friend. :o)

And that black lab looks so adorable begging! i would have dropped pieces too. it's so hard to deny when they use their puppy dog eyes.

That sounds like a great restaurant! I am dying to hit it up.

And I'm a sucker for the pups too - I'm ALWAYS the one that caves and gives them food, haha.
